MECCA MELBOURNE EXHIBITION - THE CAROUSEL, ALBERT PARK

Shading Systems recently took part in the 'Mecca Melbourne' exhibition, held on a Tuesday night at the Carousel, Albert Park, in which Peter Scrivenor & David Sharp were able to discuss the benefits of motorised shading solutions with many architects, interior designers and builders.

Whilst we were only able to showcase just a small portion of our very extensive product range, we had many enquiries on a range of different shading products in particular our horizontal tension roof system, which is growing in its popularity. Much discussion was also raised in regards to ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design) when it comes to fabric choice, which is a hot topic at the moment on the ecological scale (Please stay tuned for more interesting information on this hot topic).

Also, supporting Shading Systems on the night was Paul Knox and Ian Brown from Innova International (Ferrari), helping to field questions on fabric strengths and limitations.

Shading Systems would like to thank all of those that were able to visit and chat to us on the night. We hope we were able to provide you with valuable information regarding shading solutions to your current or future projects. Should we be able to assist you further please contact Peter or Bruce on 1800 1 SHADE (74233)

MOVING ON TO BETTER THINGS: FAREWELL TO REBECCA FELDMAN

It was with great regret that we said good-bye to our admin manager, Rebecca Feldman last Thursday. Rebecca has been a part of Shading Systems for over 5 years giving support to all of the staff and helping to make our company run smoothly. Her plans are to spend more time with the family, especially with her two boys, Ben and Liam

PROJECT PROFILE #1: VICTORIA RACING CLUB - GRANDSTAND ATRIUM BLINDS

These lateral tension blinds were installed in the atrium section of the grandstand at Flemington racecourse for glare reduction in both the summer and winter seasons. With complete design and manufacture undertaken by the Shading Systems team, this unique system was designed to subtly integrate into the building structure, which included manufacturing curved side channels to match the existing curved facade. When it came to the installation of the final product, our installers Paul Gunning and Paul Allen worked from a boom at a height of approx. 14 metres to fit off all 18 of these large 7.6 metre drop blinds. To finish off the systems headboxes, powercoated to suit, were fitted, which finalised the installation of the whole project on time and on budget.

PROJECT PROFILE #2: CAROLINE SPRINGS SPORTS CENTRE - LARGE BLOCKOUT ROLLER BLINDS

Utilising the largest sized roller (150mm diameter) from the SUPAROLL™ range, these four large blockout roller blinds were installed at the south end of show court one at the Caroline Springs sport centre. Individually measuring up to seven metres wide and eight metres in drop these blinds were required for the reduction of glare and to allow for even lighting across the full court. Fitted by a team of installers, each blind was installed individually as each roller needed to be hoisted up into position before being fitted off to the building with heavy duty brackets. The fabric used for these systems is the ferrari B92 blockout fabric in Bronze.

REFLEX PRODUCT RELEASES
UPSIZE: REFLEX ROLL FAMILY INCREASES

With the growing demand for larger sized external window coverings, Shading Systems has introduced the 'R12' and 'R15' into the current Reflex Roll product range. Working on the same methodology as their smaller brothers, 'R8' and 'R10', the two new larger sizes can be used with our side wire guide system and also our new lateral tension side guide system, which makes these systems perfect for external use. The 'R12' and the 'R15' comprising of 125mm and 150mm square headboxes respectively can accommodate fabric sizes of up to 6 metres in width and up to 6 metres in drop.
